Veteran Services
Our services are offered free-of-charge to all Veterans and their families regardless of whether they are members of the Legion.
Contact a Command Service Officer
Command Service Officers have training in the disability claims process and are empowered by a Memorandum of Understanding with Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) to act as advocates. Command Service Officers can offer advice and representation to any Veteran (including current and retired CAF and RCMP) seeking benefits through Veterans Affairs Canada.

How We Help
Assistance with Disability Claims through Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)
The Legion’s Command Service Officers can represent Veterans seeking benefits through Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC). Upon consultation, if an injury or disability is identified to have occurred as a result of service, a Command Service Officer can submit a claim directly to VAC for consideration. This includes preparation of application forms, ordering and viewing of medical records, referring clients to specialists for diagnosis, and submission of claims directly to VAC.
In 2025, BC/Yukon Command Service Officers were successful in securing over $10,000,000 in Pain and Suffering Compensation and over $60,000 in monthly Pensions.
Emergency Financial Assistance through the Poppy Fund
Donations to the Poppy Fund and proceeds from the Poppy Campaign are placed in trust to be used in support of Veterans and their dependents. Through these funds, the Legion provides emergency financial assistance to Veterans and their families who are in distress.
